Melody Hegarty started dancing at the age of three. She has trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, acrobatics, singing, musical theatre and drama. Melody has completed all cecchetti ballet examinations under Miss Carol Trenfield up to the Advanced level. She has completed a qualification in teaching Beginners and Advanced Acrobatics.
Melody has also been a part of two hip hop crews; Dance2xs and Melbourne all-girl crew Allure where she had the opportunity to perform showcases at a variety of events and also professional performances throughout Melbourne.
Melody has appeared on TV shows such as Hey Hey it's Saturday, Big Girl's Blouse, Channel 9's Carols by Candlelight, The Good Friday Appeal and the Dennise Drysdale show. She has danced with artists such as Timomatic, Adam Brand, Shane Borne, Wilbur Wilde, Joel "JD" Decarteret and Magda Szubanski. Melody was a finalist in 'Australian Dance Idol' where she performed in Sydney and trained with some well known choreographers including dynamic duo Nappy Tabs.
Melody was a part of acoustic duo Emenjay as the lead singer. Melody has been teaching dancing for over 15 years at a variety of different dancing schools where she has specialised in hip hop, acrobatics and lyrical.
Melody also has a Bachelor Degree in Education from Prep to Year 12 with a major in Performance Studies (Dance and Drama). She has a full teacher registration and has taught Prep (Foundation) and Visual Arts. Melody has a special passion for teaching students of all ages and she thrives to attain the best results for all those taking her class.
